What is an AI UGC ad?
An AI UGC ad copies user-generated content, the phone-style video of a real person talking about a product, but makes the person, the voice or the whole scene with AI. No shoot, no creator to book.
Filming is the hard part. An agency owner puts it simply: “most of my clients can’t be bothered to film their own content.”
What do AI UGC ads cost?
A freelancer charges $15 to $50 an hour, and an agency sells batches at €363 to €500 an ad.
| Option | What it costs | Good for | Watch out for |
|---|---|---|---|
| A tool, yourself | Credits, plus time to learn it | Someone who already edits video | Many attempts per clip; the product drifting |
| A freelancer on Upwork | $15 to $50 an hour; 5 clips for $300 to $800 | A few ads, a tight budget | Quality varies; check revisions and rights |
| An agency such as Admiral Media | €10,000 for 20 ads to €29,000 for 80 | Large testing programmes | Batches only, so a high starting cost |
| The Scene Makers | From $450 an ad; $375 each in a pack of five | A few strong ads at a fixed price | Price confirmed before work starts |
The tool looks cheapest until you count the time. One poster who says their brand spends about $5 million a year on Meta wrote that the time to learn the software “is better spent me just finding someone on upwork and paying them to make 10 AI UGC ads.” See what an AI video ad costs for more prices.
Do AI UGC ads work?
They work best for testing, not as a swap for real creators. An ecommerce practitioner says “conversion still runs 15-30% behind real creators.”
In one June 2026 thread, several advertisers gave the same rule of thumb: “AI for testing, real creators for scaling.” So make many hooks with AI, find the two or three that pull, and spend more on those. Make them with care, too: in the practitioner’s thread, some shoppers take AI as a sign of a cheap brand.
How do you keep your product exact?
Do not generate it. Build the scene around real product photos and composite the product in, so the label on screen is the label on the shelf. That is how we make product videos for brands, and the first thing to ask anyone you hire.
Accuracy was the first objection the $5 million poster raised: “It can’t (easily) get my products right.” Creators in r/AI_UGC_Marketing agree that logos, packaging text, colours and proportions drift between generations.
Do you have to label AI UGC ads?
Often, yes. TikTok’s ad policy says: “If we identify AI-generated content that has not been disclosed, your ad will be rejected or restricted.” Other platforms set their own rules; Do you have to label AI-generated ads? covers Meta, Google and YouTube.

How much do AI UGC ads cost?
Freelancers on Upwork charge $15 to $50 an hour, or $300 to $800 for a package of five social ad clips. Agencies sell batches, for example €10,000 for 20 ads. The Scene Makers makes UGC-style ads from $450 each, or $375 each in a pack of five.
Do AI UGC ads convert as well as real creators?
Usually not per ad. One practitioner reports AI creator-style ads converting 15 to 30% below real creators. Their strength is volume: you can test many hooks and angles cheaply, then put more money behind the winners.
Can an AI UGC ad show my real product?
Yes, if the product is not generated. AI tools change labels, logos and shapes between shots, so careful teams build each scene around real product photos and composite the product in.
Do I have to label AI UGC ads?

How we checked this
We read Upwork's and Admiral Media's prices on their own pages on 28 October 2026, and a second, independent check re-read both against the live pages the same day. These are published asking prices; we did not ask for private quotes. Admiral Media sells only in batches, and its euro prices are not converted. The results and quotes come from Reddit posts found the same day. Each is one person's first-hand report, or one thread, and the page names them that way. The TikTok rule is quoted from TikTok's own ad policy page, read on 29 October 2026. If something has changed, tell us on WhatsApp and we will update this page.
